Many cottages have their own private water frontage and often a boat included or
available to rent.
We have been renting holiday homes in Norway for many years and can offer a very
personalised service to help you choose the property that suits you best. Finding
the right property in the right place will make sure you have the best holiday experience
possible. We do not charge any booking fees for this service.
The rental agency Novasol normally has the best choice and we are their main independent
UK agent. We have many year’s experience of renting their properties so we know which
ones are popular and have been recommended by our guests.
You may like to try your own search on the Novasol web site. If you find any properties
you like but are not sure about the location or if you have any questions we will
be happy to help if you let us know the holiday home ID (N?????). If you find a
property you really like and want to book it as soon as possible, please use this
Norsc Holidays booking link and follow the booking process there. The house will
then be held on an option for you for a few days and we will contact you to confirm
the details and arrange payment. If you have any questions about the property please
send us an email or give us a call.
Alternatively we can find a selection of properties for you if you let us know your
requirements, preferred dates and any travel plans. We will then send you links to
view properties that are available and meet your requirements as closely as possible.
We can hold properties on an option for you for a few days on request, or you can
do this yourself using the Norsc Holidays booking link .
Unfortunately there are no
longer any brochures printed in English.

Campsite cabins and chalets
If you don't want to stay for a week in one place many campsites in Norway have 'camping
hytter' which can be rented for any number of nights. You will get much better value
for money booking a cottage on a weekly basis though, especially in low season. It
can often be cheaper pay a weekly rate even if you don’t stay the whole period, but
campsite cabins can be very useful if you want to move around, or if you need a short
self-catering stay to suit ferry or flight dates. Even the most basic cabins are
a comfortable, weatherproof and inexpensive alternative to a tent.
Prices and standards range from about £25 per night for a small cabin with basic
equipment and communal toilet and washing facilities, to about £85 per night for
a high standard, self-contained 2 bedroom chalet. The more basic cabins do not normally
need to be booked in advance but the higher standard ones are less common and will
need to be booked in advance in peak season.
Some parts of Norway are covered better by other rental agencies and in a few places
we can make bookings direct with the property owners.
Typical rental costs are between £350 and £950 per week according to the size, standard
and season, but there are many budget and luxury properties outside of this range.
The usual rental period is Saturday to Saturday in mid and high season (June - August
and in the main winter holidays). In low season other start and finish days are possible
and some will permit stays of less than a week.
For a costed itinerary for a typical holiday staying in self-catering accommodation
in Norway see Tour Suggestion 3 on this web site.
